Born and raised in the deep south of Talladega, AL, Sean Williams fell in love with the outdoors at an early age. Spelunking, canoeing, white water rafting, archery, racing cars, and basketball are some of his most cherished hobbies. He grew up in a low socio-economic status community where resources were few. However, he found his riches at home, where his parents taught him how to be resourceful, to develop a strong sense of mission, to walk with God and build healthy relationships. Sean has demonstrated a strong commitment to Christian education! He is a proud graduate of Oakwood Adventist Academy.
After high school, Mr. Williams attended Oakwood University, where he obtained a BS in Mathematics and Education. He later earned a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Educational Technology from Grand Canyon University and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.
The Lord awakened in him a passion for youth and education while he was a student at Oakwood University. This passion has lead him to work in public, private, and alternative educational settings over the past 11 years as a math instructor, professional learning community (PLC) coach, curriculum developer, and administrator. He accepted the invitation to serve as Vice Principal of Oakwood Adventist Academy in July, 2015.
Sean’s most prized joy is his wife Darissa of almost eight years, and his three sons, Jaanai, Josiah and Jiair. They are, according to Mr. Williams, the apple of his eye.
