Paul D. Nixon

Vice Principal | English - AP Lit.

Paul Nixon has been led on an incredible journey of salvation and service. He graduated from Oakwood College (University) in 2001 with a B.A. in English. After sparing Paul’s life in a near-fatal car accident, the Lord placed him in the English Department of Pine Forge Academy (PFA). In the three years he was there, Paul was promoted to Department Chair and he led the drive to overhaul the school’s English curriculum. Next, the Spirit led Paul to serve as a missionary English teacher in South Korea where Paul would become his school’s Foreign Teacher Coordinator while completing his M.A. in English. After spending some time making films in Los Angeles, Paul returned to the Huntsville area to serve for two years in the English and Foreign Languages Department of his alma mater, Oakwood University. After another brief stint at PFA, Paul moved to GAAA in Atlanta where he was promoted to Vice Principal. He accepted the call to become the Vice Principal of Oakwood Adventist Academy in 2015.

On June 25, 2017, he followed God’s instructions and married a Georgia peach, the former Taïna Casimir, a Health Education professional whose passion lies in the area of adolescent health. The Nixons’ favorite Bible text is Jeremiah 29:11; they look forward to God revealing His plans in their lives as their marriage grows and develops.
