Brandon Dent is the product of both Seventh-day Adventist and public education. He graduated with a 3.98 GPA from the renowned Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. He ranked 3rd in a class of 900 students and was valedictorian of the vocational department.
Mr. Dent holds a BSE degree in Computer Engineering and an MSE degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan. He started his career at Chrysler Corporation in various management positions in production and engineering. Subsequently, he worked for an automotive supplier of electrical systems. In this role he led engineering teams that developed electrical systems for several vehicles, including the iconic Dodge Viper and Plymouth Prowler. He also held senior positions in Program Management, Environmental Affairs, Communications, Corporate Education and Community Relations. In this last role, Mr. Dent developed a technology exposure program for Detroit Public Elementary Schools.
Mr. Dent is an ordained Elder and has served on the executive committees for the Lake Union Conference and the North American Division of SDA. He is a co-host for the program “For Guys Only” on 3ABN’s Dare to Dream Network. He is also an official ACT/SAT prep instructor for math and science.
In 2010, Mr. Dent retired early from corporate America and answered God’s call to teach math & physics in Adventist academies. He is proud to continue the legacy of his late Aunt, Alice Brantley, who faithfully served OAA for many years. Mr. Dent’s philosophy of education is to prepare the whole student for life in this world and for eternity.
